There are a few things that can assist in ensuring a productive and enjoyable photo shoot.
Try and book the time of the shoot in accordance to your babies patterns. Timing a feed as
close to the shoot as possible will assist in a more settled and tolerating baby.
We are a breastfeeding friendly studio to assist you.
Consider any clothing carefully,
both yours and your baby. If the
shoot is a group and not just of the baby ensure that colours are considered carefully and do not clash. Cathy is more than welcome to discuss any aspect of the shoot with you at any time.
Cathy now almost exclusively uses a digital photography format. This helps in a number of ways but probably the most relevant is the immediate ability to reformat and edit any photographs taken. This can be from changing colour into black and white, sepia or other stylisation.
Whilst using the hospital service it can be used to enhance the image to include text/ copy of babies name, birth and measurement details etc. This in turn can be converted to act as thank you cards, birth notifiers or gifts to celebrate the birth.
Allow yourself time for the shoot. Cathys patience is renowned and is best rewarded by clients that are unhurried and as relaxed as possible. Her experience as a midwife ensures a calm and considered approach to capturing the essence of your child.
When photographing groups with the baby it is worth mentioning that boredom can inhibit siblings from "performing" as you would like. In our experience we therefore recommend as a whole to do group shots first. It also means you don't have people hanging around waiting for their turn impatiently. The studio has facilities for light refreshment and a calm comfortable waiting area.
Most of all remember and expect to have fun. This is a special time and as such it is to be cherished. Rest assured that by choosing Cathy to create your memories is a step already in the right direction for not only getting the photographs you dreamed of but having a memorably great time in doing so.
