Gallery Wedding Photography TIP 15
How long to book the photographer? Ideally the photographer would be there at the commencement of the preperation rightsthe way through to the speeches and subsequent honeymoon departure. This is not always possible and the question revolves around the emphasis and importance that you place on the elements of your wedding day.
The preperation of some brides and grooms captures precious moments of nerves, uncertainty, friendships support as well as a whole gamut of other states and is almost invaluable, howeve some because of budget, time constraints or just a will for privacy see this as an optional extra that can be sacrificed.
Others valueing the importance of the preperation see the reception as being of less recordable performance and have duly excluded it from their photographic booking. Cathy sees the reception as affording a conclusion to the days events. The liveliness passion, joy and sometimes relief is tangible in most cases and allows for Cathy to record the celebration of the days events on all of the faces of those concerned. She is discerning in what she records and her photographs conclude the occassion.
A select few choose to not record the ceremony, perhaps in respect to the sacredness of the occassion or for other personal reasons, whilst the majority see this as essential. The capturing of the moment whent he utterance of the words "I do" means so much, the union of individuals as one.
Cathy has also had bookings where meeting the formal requirements of the wedding are all that is solicited...the infamous group shots. Wherever possible she tries to expand on this very simple remit but appreciates the importance of the individuals choices and requirements.
